50 Things to do in self-isolation


Some may look to the current situation as a miserable time and others see it as an opportunity to do and try different things. And to be honest I guess most of us go through these two phases alternatively and this is okay. So here are a couple of things I do to fill my time.
  1. Watch sunset and sunrise
  2.  Stare at the sky and the moon in the night
  3. Go for a walk or run
  4. Try running in place if you can’t get outside
  5. Build up a workout routine
  6. Do yoga to relax your body and calm your mind
  7. Try meditation in the way that suits you
  8. Build a morning routine to structure your day
  9. Draw or colour, it is really relaxing
  10. Get into journaling
  11. Write one thing at least that you are grateful for every day.
  12. Make a vision or dream board to inspire you.
  13. Listen to Audiobooks
  14. Read more books and try different genre, and start reading if you are not already
  15. Read magazines and articles
  16. Decorate your room or house and change things around
  17. Buy plants and start planting in your balcony or garden
  18. Learn cooking and try different recipes
  19. Watch out your eating habits, and try to eat healthier.
  20. Listen to podcasts
  21. Watch Ted talks for inspiration and knowledge
  22. Watch Talks and interview for the celebrities and role models you love
  23. Listen to instrumental music; you may fall in love with them
  24. Listen to new songs and singers
  25. Do Karaoke even if you can’t sing, who cares it is fun
  26. Watch concerts for your favourite singers and artists
  27. Follow a new series or get back to your favourite ones
  28. Watch documentaries about the topics you are interested in
  29. If you write, do it more consistently and practice
  30. Start your own blog to share what you love.
  31. Now is a good time to watch all the YouTube videos that we love and connects with our favourite Youtubers
  32. Start a YouTube channel yourself if you have considered it or prepare for it and you have a good content
  33. Call and video call your friends and loved ones, what a better time to connect with each other
  34. Take an online course or couples in the fields you like
  35. Learn a new language or work on the one you are already learning
  36. Watch new movies, re-watch your favourite ones and start a movie marathon.
  37. Declutter your drawers
  38. Organise your ware drop
  39. Declutter your phone and devices and delete all unnecessary things
  40. Play video games and games on your phone
  41. Play online games with your friends
  42. Play different games and cards with your family at home
  43. Develop your hobbies and set more time for them
  44. Dance and learn different dances
  45. Learn a new skill
  46. Write a list of all the things you want to do after quarantine is over, to give you something to look up for
  47. Make a list of all-time favourite songs, it feels good to listen to old favourite songs
  48. Do a movie night with your family
  49. Detox from social media for a while, it will give you peace
  50. Reflect in yourself, mindset, emotions, and feelings to have self-awareness
These are most of the things I do and others were recommended. Try to find anything new or preferred to do.  Any little thing can help us overcome these overwhelming days. And it is okay that some days you will feel that you are just tired and don’t want to do anything at all, but always try to get out of that state as soon as you can mentally and physically. Be safe and sane.
